Allison Jayroe is originally from San Antonio, TX, and currently living in Boston, MA. She will graduate with her masters degree this year, in the studio of Linda Toote. Allison graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music Education in December of 2015, under the instruction of Dr. Francesca Arnone. This fall, she will begin her doctoral studies at the University of Texas at Austin, studying with Marianne Gedigian.

Allison regularly performs in many capacities and enjoyed three seasons as second flutist and piccoloist with the Waco Symphony from 2013-2016. She was also a prominent touring member of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra and Baylor Wind Ensemble from 2010 to 2015, appearing at national conventions such as the Midwest Clinic, College Band Directors National Association Convention, and the Texas Music Educators Association Convention. In Boston, Allison mainly worked as a freelance musician in addition to performing with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, performing in venues such as Boston Symphony Hall and the Harvard University Sanders Theatre.

Allison has performed in masterclasses for many world-renowned flutists such as Jeanne Baxtresser, Jim Walker, Marianne Gedigian, Leone Buyse, Christina Jennings, Bonita Boyd, Mark Sparks, Michael Hasel, Carol Wincenc, and Paula Robison. She attended the Brevard Music Center in 2016, performing under conductors including Keith Lockhart, Matthias Bamert, JoAnn Falletta, and Ken Lam. Allison has also performed twice at the National Flute Association Convention and attended InterHarmony International Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy in 2013.

Allison also enjoys teaching music. During her time at Boston University, she coached non-major chamber ensembles, taught non-major private lessons, and taught wind sectionals regularly with the All-Campus Orchestra. In Waco, she worked with middle- and high-school students who ranged from complete beginners to TMEA All-State musicians taking college music auditions.
